Period vs Prior Period for Impact Comparison Panel
Dashboard
The Impact Comparison Panel now supports Period vs. Prior Period comparisons.
What's New?
The Impact Comparison Panel now supports Period vs. Prior Period comparisons. When configuring a section, you can choose between two comparison modes:
-
Metric vs. metric: Compares two defined groups of metrics side by side. This is the existing default behavior.
-
Period vs. prior period: Compares a single metric against its equivalent prior period. The current period is the primary value and the prior period is the baseline, with labels generated automatically from the dashboard's active timeframe.
Each section in the panel can use a different comparison mode, so you can mix group and period comparisons in a single panel.
Why Does It Matter?
Period vs. prior period comparisons are useful when you want to track performance trends over time rather than compare two separate groups. This is especially valuable for clients with high Amplify adoption, enabling meaningful comparisons that reflect actual performance trends.
How Do I Enable This?
The new panel options are available by default for all users with dashboard editing abilities. For full details, see Dashboard Panel Options.
